  1. In the late 1960’s, my friends and I were on-stage poets with only small press publishers; the rags that made Bukowski and many others famous and a few even rich. But for the most part, we decided that we would work together and print our stuff while praying that the gods of wrinting would smile upon we struggling artist of southern California, so it is no stretch for the likes of us to desire to self-publish – it’s always been a great idea! Thanks fer doin de woik down dere, yall.

  2. Ted and Maria-

I’ll be happy to read your comments.

I’m just starting a blog on a related topic: Fears of a First-Time Novelist. It’s at http://mikemarkel.blogspot.com/. Maybe you can stop by some time. Thanks, and good luck.

  4. You’re right, Ted. Sometimes I think publishers believe that writers live forever. We don’t have any more time then they do.
